Accountants can have fun too!

There is a stereotype about people in my profession as being very reserved and quiet and even standoffish. I break the mold on that stereotype. I like to break molds! That is the only mold I have probably broken though. I am loud and a social, busy bee. I enjoy joking and laughing about anything and everything. There isn't a lot of opportunities to do that in an accounting atmosphere though.

I was in a group that had several other people who could step out of their shells and join me in the land of laughter and loudness. After a corporate restructuring, I am not with a bunch of people who fit more into the mold of the typical accountant. They are wonderful people, don't get me wrong. I love working with them. I have had to check myself on more than one occasion. My goal is to spread my social, loud personality to the others around me. In a month, I have not gotten very far at all. It is going to be tough, but I am up to the task! They will either end up some of my favorites or end up hating me. I am betting on the latter. But that isn't going to stop me!

In April many things went on and I learned many things. Easter brought with it fun times with family and my cutie nieces and nephew. But more importantly it was a time of reflection on Christ being hung on the cross but conquering death so that I may live. My sin put Him on the cross and I deserve death, but I am SAVED!! What a wonderful peace that brings to one's life! I forget that on a day to day basis. I get bogged down with the day to day frustrations and joys and think it is all my doing that my day is good or bad or whatever it is. Thank God for His ultimate plan to save me, a sinner!

Also in April, I had to see a wonderful person leave my company. He was the person that you could vent to and lean on and trust with anything. He was a rock. Because he is Italian, he could say anything and get away with it, which was most of his charm! Carlo, I am going to miss you around here! I wish the best for you and a new job that have all the qualities a good job has: few hours, wonderful pay, and easy work!

Other than that, just working as an accountant. I have had some slip ups and have learned of some things I need to work on. Like gossiping. I never really thought of myself as a gossip, but found out that I kind of am. Don't get me wrong, I can keep a secret with the best of them. Like I haven't ever told people about the time I was....wait, I am not going to share that now either. But about things that I think should be public knowledge and work stuff that is all bureaucracy stuff, I think the masses should know about it, so I share it with those I think should know. I have seen the error in my ways and will be working this next month on keeping my mouth SHUT! The whole sharing thing definitely gets me in trouble. I would like to stay out of trouble!
Here are some pictures of my lovelies in at their Easter egg hunts. I just love them!

They really didn't want to pose at all. But this was the best one.

I am fun Aunt Lindsey. I am not sure that is how I want to be known as any more. I will explain later.

Until then, later my followers (oh wait I don't have any). Well then I send this out to the void!

1st Post in the new world of blogs

I tried this blog thing once a long time ago. It didn't go too well for many reasons. So I am going to try again. The main reason for trying again is that I am a fun-loving, interesting person and others should be able to laugh along with me at the things I say and do that mostly get me into trouble.

My background is called happy day which pretty much sums up most of my days. Oh don't get me wrong I have bad days and bad weeks but through it all I usually remain very smiley and happy. This was not always the case. There was a time when I couldn't find a reason to get out of bed. I still find it hard most mornings but that is mainly because I love my bed! But now, I have a hope and a peace that passeth all understanding and is due solely to the peace I have from God's grace.

I look forward to sharing all that I learn from my mess ups, my triumphs, and my general day to day life. I hope you enjoy the journey with me.
